The largest airline in the Indian aviation market, Indigo and the British carrier Virgin Atlantic Airline has decided to join hands and announced an agreement on codeshare on the 31st of August. Codeshare enables an airline to book its passengers on partner carriers that can provide seamless travel experiences to its passengers where it does not have any presence.
The codeshare agreement will enable the customers to book their tickets at Virgin Atlantic Airlines and take a straight flight from London Heathrow to Mumbai or Delhi and connect to and from the 7 additional cities in India. As per reports, in the second half of the year, the agreement will be expanded where 16 destinations are planned to be covered across India as well as connections onto Virgin Atlantic’s extensive US network operated via London Heathrow.
