Aircraft at Falcon Aviation Academy
Falcon Aviation Academy has 3 different aircrafts in their fleet.
- Cessna 152
- Piper Seneca
- Robinson R44
Cessna 152
The Cessna 152 is an American two-seat, fixed tricycle gear, general aviation airplane, used primarily for flight training and personal use. It was based on the earlier Cessna 150, including a number of minor design changes and a slightly more powerful engine running on 100LL aviation gasoline. The Cessna 152 is out choice of a trainer aircraft for pilot training. It uses the Lycoming O-235, delivering about 110 horsepower. Falcon Aviation Academy has chosen Cessna 152 aircraft because of its very low fuel consumption and ease of maintenance, resulting in lower costs for the trainee pilots fees. Right now they have 10 Cessna 152 aircraft available at their base which are, VT-PTA, VT-PTB, VT-PTC, VT-PTD, VT-PTE, VT-PTF, VT-PTG, VT-PTH, VT-PTJ and VT-PTK.
Piper Seneca
The Piper Seneca is a six-seat aircraft with two counter-rotating propellers. The counter rotating engines eliminate the critical engine limitations of other light twins and make the aircraft more controllable in the event of a shutdown or failure of either engine. The aircraft uses two Lycoming IO-360-C1E6 fuel-injected engines, developing 180 horsepower each. Both the Piper Senecas are fitted with advanced navigation instruments to enable a trainee to complete all requirements of the DGCA’s flying training requirements.
Robinson R44
The Robinson R44 is a four-seat light helicopter produced by the Robinson Helicopter Company since 1992. Based on the company’s two-seat Robinson R22, the R44 features hydraulically assisted flight controls. The R44 was first flown on 31 March 1990, and received FAA certification in December 1992, with the first delivery in February 1993. It provides excellent reliability, responsive handling, and altitude performance, making the R44 the ideal helicopter for private, business, and utility applications.
Simulator
Falcon Aviation Academy uses the DGCA-approved Redbird MCX (the first and only one of its type in India) motion aircraft-simulator. The device is also approved by USA’s Federal Aviation Administration as an advanced aircraft training device (AATD). Their simulator can be used by trainee pilots to practise exercises pertaining to the Piper Seneca and Cessna 172 (glass-cockpit) type of aircraft under the guidance of a DGCA-approved simulator instructor. The DGCA permits students to log hours flown on the Redbird MCX simulator towards their training as per the Civil Aviation Requirements.
