The Delhi—based upcoming cargo airline, Pradhaan Air Express is soon to commence its operations in July 2022 with Nipun Anand as the CEO of the Company. The company is registered as a non-governmental private company with a share capital of Rs. 10,000,000. The airline is reported to have received its first aircraft- A320-200P2F. The airline received a NOC in the very month of July from the Ministry of Civil Aviation when it received its first aircraft A320-200P2F aircraft. The aircraft holds the ability to carry a total payload of 21000 kg which equals 46,000 lb. Hence, it has been termed “Pehalwan”. Praadhan airline plans to operate in the market with four aircraft in its fleet by the year 2023. Praadhan Air Express is noted to be the first airline to start its commercial operations with an A320 converted freighter. As per the recent reports, IndiGo will be the next one to start cargo operations with A320 freighter.
The first freighter converted aircraft landed Delhi in month of July. It was supposed to offer the charter capacity to freight forwarders and Indian shippers on domestic as well as international routes. The initiation of Pradhaan Air Express has helped to acquire the vision of the Government of transferring 10 million tons of cargo annually by 2030 which can push the market of Indian cargo to a global rank.
Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), a joint venture of Airbus and ST Engineering had done the conversion at the facility in Singapore. The A320 freighter aircraft had been leased by the Vaayu Group. Pradhaan Air Express has been accounted as the first airline that will be operating a narrow-body Airbus freighter. A fully palletized deck with 21tons of the payload is offered by the Aircraft.
The founder and CEO of Pradhaan Airline, Nipun Anand thanked the lessor for trusting them to handle the first A320 freighter converted aircraft in the Indian market. This will help in securing the dedicated capacity of cargo for boosting the self-reliance of the trade. Getting the lease to the first A320 freighter cargo aircraft was like a dream come true for them. The second aircraft is expected to be inducted by the end of the year with further plans for fleet expansion.
According to Vipul Bhalla, the CBO of Pradhaan Air Express, the market of Indian air cargo has untapped the potentiality of the domestic and international market that was fuelled by different initiatives so that the Indian market can become a global hub for cargo services. The airline aims at making a small contribution to the industry of Indian cargo by offering solutions that are tailor-made with on-demand charters. The aircraft’s arrival has marked the completion of a critical phase which brought the airline closer to the Air Operation Permit (AOP) so that Pradhaan Express Airline can kick-start its commercial operations. The key development will help the airline to rebound in the cargo industry after the pandemic.
