Qatar Airways, showcasing A350 plane at ‘Indian Aviation Show’ in Hyderabad

Airbus A350, the aircraft having a twin-engine wide-body will be making its debut in India; as the popular Gulf-carrier Qatar Airways plans to bring this plane for the ‘Indian Aviation Show’ that will be held in Hyderabad later this month. The Airbus A350 is the first aircraft that has its fuselage and wing structures made up of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer. Gulf-carrier Qatar Airways was the launch customer of Airbus A350 aircraft. The Indian Aviation Show is a biannual aviation and aerospace mega event that is scheduled in Hyderabad from March 16. This mega event is a common platform to all stakeholders in the industry including regulators, aircraft manufacturers, airlines and airport operators.

The Indian Aviation Show will be organized by the Civil Aviation Ministry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). President Pranab Mukherjee is expected to be inaugurating this week-long mega-event. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group said that “We are proud to showcase our A350 for the first time in the Indian market, giving prospective clients and visitors a glimpse of what to expect when they fly on board”.

Airbus A350 was put into service last year in January. A350 operates to four destinations across three continents currently. “India, as one of the world’s largest aviation markets, continues to command respect. The focus this year on growth of manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul businesses in India is commendable, and will benefit the aviation industry” as said by the Chief Executive of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker.
