Issue

This post is part of A320 Temporary Abnormal Behaviors of FMS. This is to flag the issue which may be faced if a runway and its associated LS IDENT is created via FMS NEW RUNWAY page. FMS considers manually entered NAVAID (i.e. LS IDENT) as recommended NAVAID for the newly created runway. FMS doesn’t have an associated magnetic variation and may apply an erroneous magnetic variation. This will affect the computed CF leg.

Solution

• Do not enter LS IDENT on FMS NEW RUNWAY page
• ILS should be tuned manually either by FMS RADIO NAV page or RMP
