Issue:

This if vary rare situation but has been identified in recent years. There may be repetitive loss of predictions in flight plan of MCDU during flight, if FMS finds only 4 airports in navigation database within 1200 NM from the aircraft position. This may sound strange and you might not have ever faced this issue due to your particular operational environment and routes. Occurrence rate of this even increases when flight crew enters a 5^th airport on CLOSEST AIRPORTS page.

Solution:

• If selected, clear the 5^th airport in CLOSEST AIRPORTS page to recover predictions
• Operator should request FMS supplier to modify navigation database

Minimum of 5 airports must be available within 1200 NM of all expected flight plans.
